Dear Staff and Student Colleagues

This is a reminder for the upcoming formal Faculty of Health Sciences memorial, to celebrate the life, scholarship and legacy of Professor Dan Stein.  

Following conversations with Professor Stein’s family, the Faculty will gather to remember and reflect on his extraordinary contribution to the University, the faculty, the discipline of psychiatry, and the many communities he shaped through his leadership, mentorship, and scholarship.

Memorial Service Details:

Date:    Monday, 19th January 2026 
Time:   16:00 - 18:00 
Venue: Lecture Theatre 2, New Main Building, Groote Schuur Hospital/ Online via MS Teams

We trust will provide an opportunity for colleagues, students, and friends to come together in remembrance and solidarity.
