Dear Staff and Student Colleagues

This is a reminder about the upcoming formal Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) memorial to celebrate the life, scholarship and legacy of Professor Dan Stein.  

Following conversations with Professor Stein’s family, the FHS will gather to remember and reflect on his extraordinary contribution to the university, the FHS, the discipline of psychiatry, and the many communities he shaped through his leadership, mentorship and scholarship.

Memorial Service Details:

Date:    Monday, 19th January 2026 
Time:   16:00 - 18:00 
Venue: Lecture Theatre 2, New Main Building, Groote Schuur Hospital/Online via MS Teams

We trust that the memorial will provide an opportunity for colleagues, students and friends to come together in remembrance and solidarity.
