All staff and students have an obligation to comply with the laws and regulations that govern health-related research involving humans, animals and potentially hazardous biological agents.

Note: Primary responsibility for compliance with government regulations falls on the Principal Investigator.

These are some common regulatory approvals/permits that you should be familiar with:

Section 20 permits

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) facility registration 

Required for PI's to register their laboratories/facilities that handle GMOs. Please visit their website for more information.

 

Department of Health import/export permits
