Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)
The Faculty of Health Sciences has appointed a Human Research Ethics Committee to oversee the safety, rights and welfare of human participants in research. The composition and functions of the Committee must meet standards laid down in the Department of Health’s Ethics in Health Research: Principles, Structures and Processes, 2015 (2nd edition), and requirements specified in the US Federal Wide Assurance. The Committee aims to meet these requirements as far as reasonably possible.
