The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) proudly hosted the 2026 returners’ prize-giving, a special occasion dedicated to honouring undergraduate health sciences students who demonstrated exceptional academic performance in 2025.

Dr Kerrin Begg, the Deputy Dean for Undergraduate Education in the FHS, presided over a ceremony that saw 43 students receive Dean’s Merit List prizes (an aggregate of at least 75% for MCHB students and an aggregate of at least 70% for Health and Rehabilitation students), and 30 MBChB students and 19 Health and Rehabilitation Sciences students receive class medals and prizes in various categories.

In the presence of teachers and peers, these students were commended for their dedication, resilience and commitment to distinction.

The FHS extends its heartfelt congratulations to all achievers and looks forward to witnessing their continued impact in the years ahead. Their accomplishments reflect the spirit of excellence that defines the University of Cape Town’s FHS.
