On 25 April 2026, the health sciences campus bustled with activity as prospective students, families and the wider community attended the University of Cape Town’s annual Open Day. 

This was the third consecutive year that the health sciences campus held its activities on its campus in Observatory, and visitors had the opportunity to attend presentations on the undergraduate academic programmes, engage with student society representatives about extracurricular pursuits and even attempt surgical suturing on a training pad.

The day also featured a performance by the FHS orchestra and a vibrant dance competition in which visitors were in the spotlight. It was a euphoric atmosphere in which learning, culture and community were celebrated.
