Dear staff and students
 
I would like to bring to the attention of all staff and students in the Faculty of Health Sciences that the University of Cape Town has obtained an interim interdict from the High Court of South Africa that governs lawful protest on all campuses of the university including the Faculty of Health Sciences.See attached.
 
We are committed to peaceful protest and dialogue on our campus, and this will not change. However, the interdict defines the legal limits of protest which we are obliged to observe. We do not have the capacity to enforce the provisions of the interdict on our campus. Consequently we will have to engage the services of public law enforcement agencies to assist us with this matter.
