After the success of our last two 3-minute thesis competitions, the Postgraduate Cancer Research Initiative (PG CRI) is excited to announce that we will be hosting the 3-minute thesis competition again this year on 25 October 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm! The best speaker will be awarded a prize of R1000!

This exercise aims to challenge the traditional manner in which we present our scientific work and we would love to encourage postgraduate students to participate and present their projects or proposals. The goal is for us to learn about the impressive cancer research being conducted by our fellow cancer postgraduate researchers on our campus, whether they are clinicians, public health or basic science researchers.

We highly encourage participants to break the mould and use 1 non-animated slide and non-scientific language to explain their research topic or proposal to a general audience which may also pave the way for new collaborative projects and friendships. Whether you are in the last year of your degree or have just started, we would like to hear about your work.
