Dr Henry Adeola
Please welcome Dr Henry Adeola (pictured), the new Cancer Research Initiative Project Manager.  Henry joined the CRI on 1 May 2016 and will manage research projects and research development activities in the CRI.

Dr Adeola has recently completed his PhD in cancer proteomics and genomics at the University of Cape Town through an International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) fellowship.  Specifically he used mass spectrometry and protein microarray techniques to identify novel potential urinary and serological biomarkers of prostate cancer.

Henry trained as a Dental Surgeon at the University of Ibadan Medical School and completed his postgraduate residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology/Biology at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria. He then spent a year at the Niigata University Medical and Dental Hospital in Japan as a molecular oral cancer research fellow. Whilst completing his PhD Henry worked as a part-time Lecturer at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, University of the Western Cape/ Tygerberg Hospital.  

Henry is firmly committed to addressing the cancer burden in Africa through transdisciplinary collaborative team science.
