Winner of the first Inaugural Tania Douglas Scholarship in Biomedical Engineering
Oreneile Maiphetlho, a second-year MSc in BME student was the first recipient of the Tania Samantha Douglas Scholarship in Biomedical Engineering.
The award honours the legacy of the late Professor Tania Douglas by recognising and rewarding excellence in Biomedical Engineering (BME) among students enrolled in the MSc in Biomedical Engineering degree. The award was presented by the parents of Professor Douglas, Dr Aubrey and Mrs Rita Douglas, pictured here with (from left): Emeritus Prof Kit Vaughan, Oreneile Maiphetlho, UCT Interim Vice-Chancellor Emeritus Prof Daya Reddy, Dean of Health Sciences, A/Prof Lionel Green-Thompson, Head of Division: Prof Ernesta Meintjes, and Head of Department: Human Biology, Prof Sharon Prince.
