Registration 2024
A warm welcome to our returning students!
Registration is compulsory each year as prescribed by the respective curriculum until completion of the degree /diploma requirements. The Faculty Handbook is the main resource for this information.
Returning undergraduates with good academic standing can register from 10 January 2024 to 9 February 2024.
NB: It is important to note that you must conclude your registration during the window allocated for your programme.
Students must log in to their PeopleSoft student portal from the dates noted below to receive the registration link. For international students, pre-registration clearance (i.e., visa, medical aid, and fee checks) will be completed remotely via the International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO), before academic registration.
All students must be registered by the deadline of 09 February 2024. Students who register late will face a late registration penalty of R2000.
Registration takes place online and students can undertake any of the two methods below for self-registration:
- Programme Enrolment entails an approved curriculum and rules configured in the system that allows students to register for a set number of fixed courses. If students deviate from the rules of the curriculum or apply for a concession, this request will be routed in the first instance to the respective academic advisor who will need to approve and route back to the student who is then able to conclude enrolment for the year.
- Blank shopping cart where students will be able to select courses that will then be routed to an academic advisor for approval.
Academic Advisors are academic conveners/persons who will receive the student’s registration submissions for approval. NB: this will only apply to students who ‘break the rules’, those who register for courses outside their fixed curriculum; or to students who have a tailored academic plan and are meant to take specific courses. Students with tailored academic plans - their service requests will be routed to the relevant academic advisor for consideration and approval.
Students with tailored academic plans service requests will be routed to the relevant academic advisor for consideration and approval. Other students in this category refer to students who are granted FEC concessions or are readmitted via the RAC and will need to be provided academic advisement and approval.
If you require any technical support during the self-registration process, please contact the Student System Support (SSS). Our friendly Student System Support advisors will be available from 05 January 2024. Our contact centre will operate and help guide students through any technical challenges they might experience. Students can phone or email them for assistance.
