Harsha Gihwala and Nasreen Solomons of the Gender, Health and Justice Research Unit will discuss the obligations created by the amended Domestic Violence Act and how these apply to stakeholders working with victims of domestic violence.
Dr Chivaugn Gordon will offer training on the clinical manifestations of interpersonal violence (‘IPV’) and will show how the Domestic Violence Act aligns with various clinical presentations. She will also discuss the attending clinicians’ ethical and legal obligations in the context of IPV, which will include what to do practically when a given patient is experiencing IPV.
