Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography (FATE) is an internationally recognised point-of-care cardiac ultrasound workshop, designed to provide basic echocardiographic skills for physicians.
This course is aimed at doctors from all specialities e.g.: Anaesthesiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, internal medicine physicians and surgeons requiring time-sensitive information regarding patient care. This includes interns and medical officers; i.e. any physician who encounters haemodynamically unstable patients on a regular basis.
In addition to the hands-on training session, participants will be required to complete an e-learning component. All theory is provided in the unique USabcd.org interactive e-learning material. The e-learning covers introduction, physics of ultrasound, equipment and skills, basic imaging views, M-mode, cardiac function and pathology. It must be completed prior to the hands-on training in order to ensure maximum benefit for the workshop. Please allow 6-8 hours for completion of the e-learning.
No prior ultrasound experience is necessary for this workshop.
