The Understanding End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and Dialysis short course is essential to improve the clinician’s capacity to deliver individualised quality care to complex patients affected by renal disease.

The course will focus on providing healthcare professionals with the core knowledge and skills required to care for patients affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD), identify manifestations of the disease and manage the complications. 

This course was designed and will be presented by the Division of Nursing and Midwifery at UCT.

Who should attend
Healthcare professionals who:
Regularly care for ESRD patients or aspire to specialise in renal care
Want to stay updated on the latest ESRD management practices
Aim to positively impact patient outcomes with enhanced theoretical knowledge

Entry requirements: Valid registration with professional council - South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Course requirements: Reliable computer and strong internet connectivity
