This is a practical 3-day course designed to strengthen CT knowledge for PET/CT and SPECT/CT practice. The course provides comprehensive education in CT physics, image acquisition, reconstruction, attenuation correction, protocol optimisation, dose management, quality assurance, artefact recognition, clinical applications and ethical and regulatory considerations.

Who should attend
The programme is intended for Nuclear Medicine Radiographers, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Medical Physicists and Registrars and combines lectures, practical learning, case discussions and formal assessment.

Assessment

Participants will complete an online multiple-choice knowledge assessment via the UCT Amathuba learning platform on the final day. The assessment will cover CT physics, image quality, dose optimisation, attenuation correction, hybrid imaging principles, clinical applications, radiation protection and ethical/regulatory considerations.

A digital certificate of attendance will be issued to participants of the course.
