This course introduces participants to Life Steps, a practical evidence-based adherence intervention consisting of 13 educational and problem-solving steps. The aim of the intervention is to identify structural and psychological barriers to anti-retroviral therapy (ART) adherence and develop effective strategies to overcome them.

Near perfect adherence to anti-retroviral therapy (ART) is essential to manage HIV successfully, yet adherence remains one of the most significant challenges comprising care for people living with HIV.

This one-day CPD-accredited course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to apply Life Steps to support individuals in setting goals, identifying barriers, overcoming challenges, and building realistic, personalised plans to maintain adherence.

The course open to all and is particularly relevant for lay counsellors, adherence counsellors, community health workers, research workers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, medical officers
