The course offers comprehensive practical training on DNA extraction from hard tissue samples, such as human bone and teeth. Extracting usable DNA from hard tissues is complex, yet crucial for forensic DNA identification.

This two-day laboratory-based course is designed to equip forensic practitioners and researchers with the knowledge and skills necessary to extract DNA from hard tissue samples.

Entry requirements: Participants should be skilled in basic molecular laboratory methods including pipetting, centrifugation and PCR.  Must be familiar with conventional DNA extraction methods. Must have experience working in a Biosafety level 2 laboratory.
Advantageous: experience working in a forensic laboratory
