We are pleased to announce that the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health research committee will continue to offer the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health research awards for 2025.

The deadline for the 1^st round of applications has been extended to Friday, 07 March 2025.

You are invited to apply for a Department of Paediatrics and Child Health research award to the maximum of R 30 000 for a new or existing research project. This award will be granted on the basis that ethics approval has been received and that a yearly progress report and detailed budget will be submitted to the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health Research Committee.

If you wish to apply for a Department of Paediatrics and Child Health research award, please see guidelines for required documentation or see below:

1. 1-page synopsis and motivation
2. detailed research proposal
3. copy of DRC or ethics approval
4. budget and budget justification including the details of additional funding indicating what has been requested or obtained
5. A written commitment from the applicant that, if successful, the applicant will present their research at the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health (UCT) Research Days within 4 years of receiving the award
