Ms Lieketseng Sekoto
My research interests are in audiological rehabilitation, central auditory processing disorders, and curriculum responsiveness. My master’s research explored identity construction among deaf adolescents and young adults (AYA). The research showed that identity is layered and fluid. For deaf AYA their self-ascribed identities, skills and talents, sense of belonging, stressors and the unique social issues they face as deaf individuals are most important for who they are. I am currently a PhD candidate. My PhD investigates the responsiveness of the enacted clinical audiology curriculum in South Africa. I supervise undergraduate student research in central auditory processing disorders, curriculum and training, and practice readiness.
