Introduction
Shireen Damonse did her undergraduate training at UWC and qualified in 1991. She started her career with the Western Cape Education Department where she worked with learners with special educational needs. After many years she developed an outreach programme which further facilitated her love children especially those with barriers to learning. She joined the UCT team in 1998 as a clinical supervisor and has subsequently been employed as a Clinical Educator within the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Division. In 2021 she completed her MSc in OT at UCT and uses her findings to compliment her teaching in the domain of Child Learning Development and Play. She is currently writing articles pertaining to her research.
