Mrs Rabia Hassam
I supervise third year students within their practice learning module in the Physical Health (PH) cluster. My research interests include physical health, neurology, disability inclusion, and innovative and emerging practice. After years of experience working with individuals (across the lifespan) with severe to profound disabilities, I am interested in research that promotes social inclusion for persons with (severe to profound) multiple intellectual disability (SPMID). My master’s research investigates social Inclusion for SPMID in residential facilities in the Cape Metropole and is currently in progress. Further to this, I am interested in research to promote innovation in teaching and practice learning, specifically the use of technology and online resources to improve the quality of practice.
