Mrs Rabia Hassam
I am responsible for practical application of theory into practice within the second- and third-year OT cohorts in the undergraduate program in DHRS. I also supervise approximately 32 third year OT students in physical health during their practice learning placements each year.
After years of experience working with individuals (across the lifespan) in NGO’s with severe to profound disabilities, I am interested in research that promotes social inclusion for persons with (severe to profound) multiple intellectual disability (SPMID) as well as application of Neuro Developmental Therapy (NDT) techniques in improving therapeutic outcomes. My master’s research investigates social Inclusion for persons with SPMID in residential facilities in the Cape Metropole and is pending. Further to this, I am interested in research: promoting innovation in practice and teaching & learning.
