Introduction

Shamila joined UCT in August 2007. Before then she worked at the University of Stellenbosch (2005-2007) where she obtained her Masters and lectured in the area of cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation. Prior to this she worked at the University of the Western Cape (2000-2004) as co-ordinator for the visually impaired programme in Physiotherapy as well as a lecturer and clinical supervisor.

Currently she heads the cardio-pulmonary teaching from 1st to 4th year in the division. She has successfully supervised 3 Masters Students in the area of cardio-pulmonary research.
