Introduction
Sarosha Pillay is a lecturer at the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Division. She obtained her BSc. in Occupational Therapy in 2000 at the University of the Western Cape. She has an interest in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children and has worked for the Western Cape Education Department as a school based occupational therapist at a school for children with ASD and on a Provincial ASD Outreach Team. She has training in sensory integration and neuro-developmental therapy. In 2008 she completed her MSc. in Occupational Therapy that looked at sensory compatibility between children with ASD and their mothers. She is currently busy with her PhD that looks at understanding and improving services for children with ASD and their families in the Western Cape.
