Ms Naila Edries Khan

Lecturer

My clinical practice and teaching experience has been in musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, which includes pain, occupation, and wellness. My research interests are centered around exercise and behaviour change interventions within various contexts, particularly with women.  I am passionate about women’s health, especially musculoskeletal conditions in women, ante and postnatal care in pregnancy, oncology and urinary incontinence. My master’s study explored the concept of occupational wellness for clothing industry workers who had a high level of pain due to musculoskeletal injuries. A key finding was the importance of exercise and behaviour therapy as preventative measures. I am interested in pursuing a PhD that investigates musculoskeletal pain and wellness for women with a focus on ante and/or postnatal care in women.

I supervise students within the same research areas outlined above, across different populations, including students and adults with various diagnoses in oncology. Lastly, I have an interest in interdisciplinary pain-management, especially as this pertains to chronic pain.
