Introduction
Fahmida graduated from the University of the Western Cape with an honours degree in 1996. She has 10 years’ experience working in the public sector as the Head of the Physiotherapy Department at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital. Fahmida has played an instrumental role in pioneering the introduction of teaching and learning of undergraduate physiotherapy students within the mental health arena. At the time she was also employed by UCT on a contract basis to enhance student facilitation. Her knowledge and expertise in this specialist area of physiotherapy has led to her furthering her career within academic education and clinical facilitation. In 2008 she accepted a permanent post as a clinical educator at the University of Cape Town, where she is currently still employed.
