Introduction
Mellisa Francke is a Clinical Educator in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Division. She obtained her BSc in Occupational Therapy at UCT in 2014. She completed her community service at a district hospital called , Brits District Hospital, in the North West Province. She was employed at the University of Cape Town within the School Development Unit as a Health and Community Coordinator for the Schools Improvement Initiative. She later moved to a clinical role within Primary level care within the Western Cape Department of Health at Bothasig CDC. Here she practiced as a general Occupational Therapist seeing patients with various diagnoses and doing community programmes with seniors. She now practices in the field of Community Development practice focusing on social transformation through occupation, organisational development and health equity.
