Mrs Meghan Krenzer

Lecturer

My area of practice and scholarship is with Community Development Practice (CDP). My research interests lie within supported education, professional identity formation; mental health (particularly in schools, and society schools; curriculum development; decent work and co-constructing humanizing praxis.  We, as a society, spend a significant amount of time either at school and/or at work and therefore occupational therapists need to ensure that these spaces promote and support health and well-being.

My Master’s research explored how the Occupation-based Community Development (Ob-CD) framework contributes towards co-constructing humanising praxis. An important finding was the need for occupational therapists to critically reflect on their positionalities to avoid potentially dehumanising service-users by disregarding the contributions, and meaning with which stakeholders make sense of a lived-experience. More recently, I am interested in professional identity formation within the Faculty of Health Sciences Curricula. I supervise undergraduate students across a range of topics that are concerned with factors contributing to psychosocial distress and or forms of resilience and wellness.
