Ms Letitia Rustin
My areas of practice and student supervision lie within community development, transdisciplinary practice and general hospital – acute conditions. I particularly enjoy ICU physiotherapy and neurology for the opportunity to form connections with the clients and the problem-solving, adaptation and flexibility needed in this setting. My masters research explored physiotherapy home-based care service delivery, more specifically how physiotherapy training with home-based carers impacted their client-management and handling. A key finding was that home-based carers who were equipped with rehab implementation skills positively impacted patient compliance and improved rehab outcomes.
I am currently involved in research concerning transdisciplinary education with colleagues in the department. I also supervise undergraduate research concerned with wellness, physical activity and quality of life studies.
