Dr Kristen Abrahams
I am a postdoctoral research fellow and clinical educator in the division of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). My current research interests are centred on understanding how curriculum can support social justice and social inclusion. More specifically, my research explores speech therapists’ contribution to social change, community development and transdisciplinary praxis. My PhD explored the contribution of speech therapy community clinics to practice development. A key finding was the importance of critical dialoguing as a necessary process for conscientisation and change towards social justice in speech therapy education and emerging professional practice.
