Ms Mishka Fortuin
Mishka Fortuin is a dedicated Registered Nurse and Midwife based in Cape Town, with over seven years of experience across South Africa’s public health sector—five years in general nursing and two years as a midwifery specialist.
She holds a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), as well as Postgraduate Diplomas in Nursing and Health Service Management, Midwifery, and Nursing Education from Stellenbosch University (SU). In addition, she is a registered assessor and moderator with a strong commitment to clinical and academic excellence.
Passionate about advancing nursing practice through education, mentorship, and evidence-based care, Mishka currently serves as a Clinical Educator for the new Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery programme. In this role, she is instrumental in shaping the next generation of midwifery specialists and promoting quality, compassionate maternal care.
Mishka’s academic interests focus on maternal nutrition and its impact on neonatal outcomes—a field she is eager to explore further as she prepares to pursue a Master’s degree. Dedicated to lifelong learning and professional development, she continues to make meaningful contributions to both clinical practice and nursing education in South Africa.
