My clinical experience and research interests are within pediatrics. I enjoy working with children and their caregivers to improve their quality of life through skills development and education. My masters study investigated childhood obesity in children aged 5 and below. I have found that the rates of childhood obesity are emerging at a younger age, supporting the need for earlier intervention, especially as children below 5 remain a neglected group. Parents, especially, need education and support. I hope to contribute to research that informs, and supports the development of early intervention services for the South African context.
