The National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) Support Hub (NISH) is governed by the NISH Management Board. The Management Board provides high-level oversight of NISH activities and promotes ownership of the project with key stakeholders.
Our guiding principles describe how we do our work and ensure the long-term success of the project. These are:
- Decision-making is legitimate because it is participatory and based on consensus.
- The strategic vision, core values, work plan and budget guide the project's operational direction and individuals' accountability.
- Management is values-based, transparent, accountable, responsive, effective and efficient.
- Governance, management and operations are based on the rule of law, human rights, ethics, equity and inclusion. Personnel, such as consultants contracted by the NISH, are required to sign a declaration of conflict of interest.
Board composition
The NISH Management Board comprises the following: a chair from the sector; up to four NITAG members; at least one National Immunisation Programme member from countries without NITAGs; a WHO AFRO NITAG point person; a GNN representative; a WAHO member; an EIDM expert; a UCT official; and an individual from a civil society vaccine advocacy organisation.
Members reflect a diversity of expertise, experience and voice; regional and gender balance and diversity. The board operates to the stipulated Terms of Reference.
