Professor Marc Mendelson (Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine at UCT) has written a piece for The Conversation entitled "The world needs ‘antibiotic guardians’ to safeguard their future use”. The piece tackles the pressing issue of the increasing rates of multi-drug resistant bacterial infections encountered in clinical practice worldwide and the role we can all play in protecting the antibiotics we currently have available.
