Special Honour for Emeritus Professor Vivienne Russell

Emeritus Professor Vivienne Russell has recently been honoured for her scientific career Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with a tribute and a special issue in the Journal of Neuroscience Methods.
Quoting the tribute part of the special issue, and known to many of her colleagues, Prof Russell has earned a reputation as an international expert on ADHD as well as the brain chemistry of depression, stress, exercise and animal models of mental disorders. She has not only played a pivotal role in advancing neuroscience education and training in South Africa and across the African continent, but has also been dedicated to mentoring junior faculty from African universities on how to communicate neuroscience knowledge.
The Special Issue on Models of Neurological and Psychiatric Disease with eight articles covers a range of current clinical and non-clinical ADHD research, but also provide an outlook into the future of this field.
Congratulations to Prof Russell on her achievements and this honour from the entire Department of Human Biology.
