About the Basic FATE Workshop
Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography (FATE) is an internationally recognised point-of-care cardiac ultrasound workshop designed to equip physicians with the core skills required to assess cardiac function in critically ill patients.
This course provides a structured approach to focused cardiac ultrasound, allowing clinicians to rapidly assess cardiac performance, fluid status, and other life-threatening conditions at the bedside.

📚 E-Learning Requirement
Participants must complete the interactive e-learning component provided by USabcd.org before attending the hands-on training.
The online modules cover:

This preparation ensures optimal benefit from the face-to-face practical session.
🔬 Workshop Format
The hands-on workshop is conducted in small groups (4–5 participants per station) using live models and supervised by experienced instructors.
Topics include:

Acquisition of basic cardiac views (including IVC)

Use of M-Mode for function assessment

Evaluation of right and left ventricular performance

Pleural scanning techniques

Clinical scenario-based scanning
🎓 Certification
A digital certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who complete both the e-learning and hands-on components.
