The radiology department offers a busy mammography service and provides imaging support for a busy breast clinic.

On Fridays we see a very busy walk-in clinic for ladies that require their screening mammograms or ultrasounds. The department also offers ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and ROLL (Radioguided occult lesion localisation) biopsies.

Dr. Rufkah Gamieldien and Dr. Kristin Lorenc-Henning have a special interest in women’s imaging and are involved in training junior specialists. Registrars in-training rotate through their mammogram rotation during their senior years of specializing.

A combined surgery-oncology-radiology and pathology meeting is held every Wednesday at lunch time which focuses on teaching and discussion of complex cases.
