Trauma imaging forms the largest component of our afterhours/emergency daily work. The trauma unit at GSH is one of two specialised tertiary centres providing a service to the Western Cape. We maintain a longstanding relationship with the trauma unit providing the core CT and plain radiography imaging with an increasing MRI and interventional radiology service.

A weekly combined meeting is held on Thursday at 11am in the C11 seminar room. The meeting is chaired by Dr G Sudwarts with presentation of cases by senor radiology registrars as well. This forum provides both a business and teaching opportunity with discussion around cases whose management in recent years now involves a combined surgical/interventional radiology approach.
