EDU has a new director

We welcome Dr Elmi Badenhorst as the latest director of the Education Development Unit. Elmi joined the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2002 and assists with curriculum development and providing academic support to lecturers and students to help them improve teaching and learning. Elmi’s research interest is cognition and learning, with a particular focus on how to enhance learning in biomedical subjects. Elmi holds an MPhil in Higher Education and obtained her Doctoral Degree at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, for her thesis titled “Dissecting misconceptions – exploring the nature and extent of medical students’ failure to understand”.
