Double platinum for online ENT atlas

Compared to the “Big ENT Textbooks” that sell only about 4000 copies internationally, chapters of the two textbooks have been downloaded almost 2.3m times and are currently being downloaded at a rate of 2100 downloads per day, i.e. a download occurring every 41 seconds.

Though intended for developing countries, many visitors to the website are from developed countries. This likely reflects the number of ENTs rather than the percentage of users.

Editors usually have little idea what readers would wish to read when planning a textbook. However, we are now able to rank the popularity of topics according to downloads, although this may change as more recently added chapters and translations climb the ranks. So we know  “Pectoralis major flap” is the most popular chapter.
