The recent large intake of registrars this year inspired a social event for new and current registrars to meet. As Dr Imraan Tayob, UCT registrar, describes, 'We met for an afternoon of bowls at the Mowbray Bowling Club. Much fun, and a bit of competition, was had by all.'

A special thanks was given to James Burger for assisting with organising and booking the bowls afternoon. As Sybrand departed the RTC as registrar rep, he initiated and circulated a registrar profile page prepared by each registrar which includes a photo and a few fun questions or facts. The regisrar group thanked him for the initiative and enjoyed learning a little more about their colleagues. 
 

In addition, SASOP hosted a combined University of Cape Town and University of Stellenbosch dinner on 28th March at the Mount Nelson Hotel. Guest speaker Dr Lucy Jarvis’s gave a talk on “The Wounded Healer” which was was enjoyed by all. A special mention is given to Carla Freeman for her commitment to registrar development.
