Departmental Research
The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine has an active research faculty that conducts cutting-edge research in all the major fields of anaesthesia and critical care. We boast a proud history of research output published in leading international journals.
All registrars are required to do a research project culminating in the degree MMed in Anaesthesia, which is also a requirement to register as a specialist after obtaining the Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists in South Africa.
