Petronella Ncube

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist
Petronella Ncube is the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Specialist for the Vaccines for Africa Initiative (VACFA) at the University of Cape Town, where she supports the work of the NITAG Support Hub (NISH). In this role, she leads the design and implementation of MEL systems to track and demonstrate NISH’s contribution to strengthening National Immunisation Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) across the WHO Africa region.

With a background in Public Health (Master’s, University of Cape Town), Petronella brings extensive experience in project management, coordination, research, and evaluation, including participatory and empowerment approaches. She has worked with multi-country, multi-stakeholder and multi-partner projects, ensuring evidence-based monitoring frameworks that capture outcomes, learning, and impact.
At NISH, Petronella plays a pivotal role in developing monitoring & evaluation frameworks as well as learning processes that enable NITAGs and partners to reflect, adapt, and strengthen evidence-informed decision-making.

Her professional focus is on using monitoring and evaluation not only as accountability tools but also as platforms for shared learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement. She is inspired by Maya Angelou's words, 'do the best you can until you know better, then when you know better, do better'.
