The 3rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the HIV-associated TB Training Program was held on Friday 25th February 2022 in the Neuroscience Auditorium at Groote Schuur Hospital. The meeting was held in a hybrid format with local fellows and members of the local Administrative Committee attending in person, and our US collaborators, one of the fellows and a Committee member connecting remotely via Zoom.
The program started with an introduction and summary of the HATTP activities to date by the Principal Investigator, Graeme Meintjes. This was followed by research project presentations from 11 of the 16 fellows who have been supported by HATTP.

We were also fortunate that Professor Marc Blockman, Chair of the UCT Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) presented a plenary entitled Protection of participants-some thoughts providing the fellows with thought-provoking examples of ethical dilemmas and emphasising the importance of utilising the experience and advice of the HREC.
Everyone was pleased to be able to meet in person again, with COVID-19 protocols in place.
