Fogarty Fellow Katlego Motlhaoleng Publishes First PhD Manuscript on Universal TB Testing in JAIDS

Katlego Motlhaoleng, a Fogarty Fellow in the HIV-associated Tuberculosis Training Program, recently published her first PhD manuscript in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes (JAIDS). The article, titled “Characterization of the targeted universal tuberculosis testing care cascade among people with HIV in PEPFAR-supported districts in South Africa,” evaluates implementation of South Africa’s universal TB testing strategy and its implications for improving TB case detection among people with HIV. A second manuscript, focusing on determinants of drop-offs within the care cascade, is currently in preparation for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
