We use “mentor” to encompass both PhD supervisors and co-supervisors, short course teachers, as well as counsellors on strategic career guidance and support. These mentors may play one or more of these roles for different trainees. For PhD supervision, University of Cape Town mentors will be supervisors and US mentors, co-supervisors.
