BSc (Med) Honours

Requirements- BSc degree (or equivalent) majoring in relevant biological, chemical, biomedical or forensic sciences, with completion of mathematics and/or statistics in at least first year; or a MBChB

 

MMed (Forensic Medicine)

Requirements- MBChB degree


MSc (Med) (Forensic Genetics, Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Entomology)

Requirements- BSc (Hons) degree in a biology related field (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Physical Anthropology, Human Genetics).  Alternatively, an approved 4- years BSc degree (or equivalent) or expert in field (Recognition of prior learning -RPL) are also accepted.


MPhil Biomedical Forensic Science

Requirements- BSc (Hons) degree in a biology related field (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Physical Anthropology, Human Genetics). Alternatively, an approved 4- years BSc degree (or equivalent) or expert in field (Recognition of prior learning -RPL) are also accepted.


PhD (Forensic Genetics, Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Entomology)

Requirements- MSc degree in a biology related field

Either create a new account or login using your existing login details

Fill in the forms accordingly

Select the degree to which you are applying

Attach any supporting documents (academic transcript, curriculum vitae, covering letter)

Submit your application once complete

Retain the email that is sent to you with your automatically generated student number and password (You will need this password to log in)

If applying for an MSc (research only) degree in a forensic related field or the MMed (Forensic Medicine) programme, you will be required to contact a potential supervisor within the division of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology prior to applying online. If unsure as to whom to contact in this regard, please email the divisional administrator (chantalvanniekerk@uct.ac.za) for assistance. 

 

FEES AND FUNDING

The Division of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology does not offer any funding or financial aid for students - this must be sourced independently by students.
