Cara Mills (nee Swanepoel), Lee Kruse and Rofhiwa Seletani received distinctions for their Master's dissertations:

• Cara Mills: "Non-invasive deep muscle electromyography: measurement of extrinsic foot muscle activity"
• Lee Kruse: "Studying the mechanics of enveloped viruses and their interactions with the host cell"
• Rofhiwa Seletani: "Development and clinical validation of a hybrid phono-electrocardiogram stethoscope"
