Dr Jade Arnold
Dr. Jade Arnold is a Lecturer of Clinical Anatomy in the Department of Human Biology who joined the department in 2026. She obtained her MBBCh degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2018. Her internship training was completed at King Edward VIII Hospital (now Victoria Mxenge Hospital) and her community service at St Mary's Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal.
With a background in Anatomical Pathology, Dr. Arnold has developed a strong interest in the relationship between gross anatomical structure, histology, disease processes and clinical practice. Her experience has fostered a passion for anatomy education and the integration of anatomical sciences with clinically relevant teaching. She is particularly interested in helping students bridge the gap between foundational anatomical knowledge and its application in patient care.
Her academic interests include medical education, curriculum design, assessment development and the creation of engaging learning experiences that promote critical thinking and long-term knowledge retention. She is committed to fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, professional growth and clinical reasoning.
Dr. Arnold's research interests include improving methods for the detection of breast carcinoma and investigating variations in cardiovascular anatomy. She is particularly interested in how advances in anatomical and pathological research can contribute to improved diagnostic accuracy, healthcare education and patient outcomes.
Outside of academia, Dr. Arnold enjoys participating in her church community, hiking and nature walks, gym training and playing the keyboard.
