UCT Occupational Medicine ECHO project - first in Africa
The Occupational Medicine Division will soon be launching the UCT Occupational Medicine ECHO project, the first in Africa, to deliver a training program that builds occupational medicine clinical capacity and provides a community of learning and practice for practitioners in southern Africa.
Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an innovative tele-mentoring program designed to create virtual communities of learners by bringing together healthcare providers and subject matter experts using videoconference technology, brief lecture presentations, and case-based learning, fostering an “all learn, all teach” approach.
Further details on the background to the project is provided on our webpage and flyer.
