BBC News Africa interview with Dr Itumeleng Ntatamala on burnout in health care workers
Healthcare professionals on the frontlines dealing with COVID-19 are bearing the brunt, first they are at high risk of being infected with the virus. And second, the few, who escape the wrath of COVID-19, are faced with another bigger challenge - high levels of workload, and are therefore at a high risk for burnout.
So what can be done to ensure that the people taking care of our health are also taken care of?
BBC News Africa had an interview with Dr Itumeleng Ntatamala (pictured left) who studies occupational medicine at UCT and works at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa and Dr Goody Gor who practices at the Mukurweini Sub-county hospital in Central Kenya.
