Epidemiology & Biostatistics Division donate nappies to new moms at GSH
The Neonatal Unit at Groote Schuur Hospital provides care to premature, low birth weight and critically ill new born babies. The Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics recently donated over 100 packs of new born nappies to the Unit for moms in need. These were leftover nappies originally donated for a research project investigating strategies to provide antiretroviral therapy to pregnant and postpartum women in Gugulethu (the MCH-ART study).
The Newborns Trust (https://newborns.org.za/) is a non-profit organisation that supports the GSH neonatal unit through fundraising, education and partnerships to ensure the highest level of care is provided to the neonates in their care.
